Injury woes are following Williamstown lad and Sydney Kings basketball captain Ben Madgen, who has been representing Australia in the Sino-Australia Challenge against China.

Australian Boomers and Kings shooting guard Ben Madgen has suffered a right ankle subtalar dislocation – ruling him out of the remainder of the series.

Madgen, 28, suffered the dislocation during training on Saturday evening, June 9.

Team medical staff stabilised his injury at the scene and he was transported by ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth.

He was heavily sedated and his ankle was successfully relocated. He remained in hospital overnight and will be discharged today (Sunday).

The full extent of the injury and recovery timetable will be determined when Madgen returns to Sydney.
